On the first Tuesday of August, you can find cities and towns all around the country celebrating “National Night Out.” This annual community-building campaign aims to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement. It also helps bring back a true sense of togetherness and provides an opportunity to get police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
This year, IBVI was fortunate to join the festivities at the Fort Detrick Military Base for their annual “Fort Detrick’s Night Out.” This event allowed us to spend time with not only our partners at Fort Detrick, but also their community members, including first responders, community leaders, and customers.
“The ‘Fort Detrick’s Night Out’ has helped bring our community together and continues to spread a positive message,” said BSC East Regional Store Manager Timothy Selby, who attended the event. “Fort Detrick has been a great supporter of IBVI’s mission, and we are incredibly thankful for them.”
If you live in the area and missed this fun event, The Fort Detrick Child and Youth Services will host a “Youth Fishing Rodeo” at Nallin Pond this upcoming weekend. Adults cannot fish, but IBVI will be there to help support another of Fort Detrick’s community-building activities! And if you live elsewhere, be sure to check to see what “National Night Out” events are happening near you.
