COVID-19 On-Site Symptom Screening Policy

The Center for Disease Control has published recommendations for the implementation of Mitigation Strategies in the workplace to slow the spread of COVID-19: CDC Implementation of Mitigation Strategies

In keeping with these recommendations and to protect employees, IBVI will begin daily temperature and symptom screenings effective 04/01/20. The screenings will continue while the threat of local transmission is high.

Beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2020, there will be one point of entrance for all employees.
All West Allis employees should enter through the production employee entrance located on the East side of the building. Your employee badges access will be temporarily changed to allow this access.
All Menomonee Falls employees should enter through the main entrance located on the North side of the building.
The screenings will be performed by a licensed nurse wearing personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to our employees and will include the following:

  • Laser forehead temperature check
  • Visual evaluation
  • COVID-19 questionnaire

Employees who screen positive, having a temperature of 100.4 or greater or displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (currently these symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat) will be sent home.
IBVI is following CDC guidelines on when to return to work if a person experiences symptoms, but is not tested for COVID-19.

  • No fever for at least 72 hours (that is three full days of no fever without the use of medicine that reduces fevers)
    AND
  • other symptoms have improved (for example, when their cough or shortness of breath have improved)
    AND
  • at least 7 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared

IBVI will maintain all information about employee illness as a confidential medical record in compliance with the ADA.

Participation in COVID-19 screening is mandatory. Employees who refuse will not be allowed to work that day.
