Sean Phipps Promoted to Assistant Store Manager at Malmstrom AFB BSC

Debby Walker, store manager at Malmstrom AFB Base Supply Center, met Sean Phipps through our affiliation with The Montana Blind and Low Vision Counsel. As a side effect to his Albinism, Sean was born blind and, as president of the Counsel, escorted students to Blind Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama for a span of 10 years.

Sean studied Computer Networking and Information Technology at High-Tech Institute (HTI) in Phoenix, Arizona. While in school, he taught Sysco, Novell, and Office softwares to other students at HTI. After completing his associate degree, he intended on finishing his bachelor’s degree near his hometown in Montana but, unfortunately, his father became very sick. While helping his mother care for his father, Sean opened his own computer networking and repair business. owned and operated his small business for ten years.
In May 2018, Sean joined IBVI as a store worker.He quickly mastered his job responsibilities and exceeded expectations with a positive attitude. Over the past two years, Sean has never let anything weigh him down and continually strives to learn new skills and identify new ways to improve efficiency at our store. In July 2020, Sean was promoted to assistant store manager of Malmstrom AFB BSC.

In his personal time, Sean enjoys listening to podcasts, playing video games and board games, camping, riding 4-wheelers, singing karaoke, and spending time with his friends and family. He is a great friend and coworker, and we’re lucky to have him in our IBVI family.
